Mindfulness Meditation with Beryl Bender

Morning Mindfulness Meditation Series I, II, & III.

Whether you are new to meditation or an advanced practitioner, this 3 part course, taught by Beryl Bender in the Vipassana tradition (from Theravada Buddhism), can help you to learn about and experience the benefits of a regular meditation practice, lead you progressively though deepening stages of meditation – from the early stages of simple relaxation and stress management, to the more advanced levels of the investigation of impermanence – and bring more joy, presence, happiness, and peace to your life.

*Note: All three series are recorded and evergreen and available individually or as a package.

Series I (10 weeks) The focus of this practice is on the body (the 1st Establishment of Mindfulness), and on training the mind in concentration on the breath. This beginning level of meditation can help you to learn self regulation and stress management, and help you to grow your awareness of the difference between being lost in thought and awake or present.

Series II (10 weeks) shifts the focus a little deeper to the 2nd Establishment of Mindfulness, and to developing conscious awareness of feelings. Through this training you can learn how to name, accept, and investigate your “feeling states” and see how they are tied to thinking and tension or “readiness” in your body.

Series III (8 weeks) is an Advanced Mindfulness Meditation program and will focus on the 3rd Establishment of Mindfulness, the mind itself, and on gaining insight into impermanence .

All sessions are recorded and evergreen. You can register for only Session III, or any of the Series. The entire course is also offered as a package to those just starting out. Each live session includes a dharma talk, 22 minutes of actual practice, deep discussion, commentary from participants, and Q&A.

Note: Series III, live from Tuesday March 18, at 7:00 AM EST, meets one day per week through May 6th. The zoom link is sent at registration and on the morning of each class. After these dates the course is available as a recorded series in tandem with Series I and II.
